Based in Brighton and Hove, Your Sussex Psychologist offers a high quality, affordable and flexible psychology service to families. I specialise in working with parents and their babies and preschoolers to support bonding and helping parents give their child the best start they can. I know that being a parent/carer is the most important job you will do - but also one of the most challenging at times.I also work families when children and young people are experiencing strong emotions to an extent that it is impacting on their daily life. Through liaising directly with me I can listen to your individual needs and can draw on my years of training, experience and psychological tool kit to find the best way to help your specific situation.
Help! My baby doesn't stop crying and I don't think I can cope any more!
Help! My child says 'no' to me all the time. Why can't he listen to me?
Help! I am exhausted now I'm back at work. I want my baby to sleep better so I can sleep better too. But I don't know where to start.
Help! I can solve all sorts of problems at work. But I feel like I am no good at being a parent. I wish I felt more confident about it.
Help! My daughter is anxious and is finding it hard to try new things. How can I help my child without overwhelming her.

"Working with Zubeida has changed my life and has meant that situations I never thought I would be able to experience are now without challenge. She created a safe and supportive environment and championed my progress and successes. I am now living without the shackles and anxiety of my phobia." Mother of 6 month old whose phobia was impacting on parenting.
"Zubeida and my daughter clicked from the very first session. Her understanding for my daughter’s needs was great, and she supported us, as her parents, too. Our daughter is so much more in control than she was a year ago, and we cannot thank Zubeida enough for teaching our little girl to sparkle again. Our relationship with our daughter is so much better now we understand each other better, and we would not have got to this point without Zubeida’s calm teaching, understanding and techniques used. Any parent and child who is struggling through the ADHD journey needs Zubeida in their corner!" Mother of 9 year old who was struggling with anxiety in the context ADHD and social communication difficulties.
"EMDR sessions with Zubeida have been really helpful. Before I started them, I was very anxious and I was avoiding situations, which was affecting my life. However, with all the support and strategies I received from Zubeida, I have overcome my fear and I feel so much happier. Zubeida has been really understanding and comforting which made me feel at ease; she created a safe space for me to share my worries. Thanks to Zubeida, I can now do all the things I was avoiding, without feeling scared and I’m so grateful for all her help." 17 year old college student
I am an independent practitioner. For safeguarding and risk reasons, if anyone in your household is open to children's services or if your child is in crisis, experiencing moderate-severe depression or anxiety, self harm, eating disorders or suicidal thoughts and behaviours, your child would be better supported by a multi-disciplinary team. Therefore please see your GP and discuss a referral to your local Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). In emergency dial 999 or take your child to your local A&E department.
