Your Sussex Psychologist offers a high quality, affordable and flexible psychology service to families. I work with children and young people directly when they are experiencing strong emotions to an extent that it is impacting on their daily life. I also specialise in providing parenting support as I know that being a parent/carer is the most important job you will do - but also one of the most challenging at times. Through liaising directly with me I can listen to your individual needs and can draw on my years of training, experience and psychological tool kit to find the best way to help your specific situation.

"Thank you for all your support, your guidance has given us a way forward as a family & has bought love & laughter back to us all." mother of two teenagers

I am based in a clinic in Hove on Wednesdays. I can also offer online sessions where this is the best way of meeting your needs.

Who am I?

I'm an HCPC registered practitioner psychologist with nearly 20 of experience and further training since qualification.  I take self referrals as well as referrals from staff at school or your GP.

I can help if your child or teenager is experiencing:

Because I assess and treat the need, children and young people do not need a diagnosis to see me.

I also specialise in working with parents:

"Working with Zubeida has changed my life and has meant that situations I never thought I would be able to experience are now without challenge. She created a safe and supportive environment and championed my progress and successes. I am now living without the shackles and anxiety of my phobia." Mother of 6 month old whose phobia was impacting on parenting.

"EMDR sessions with Zubeida have been really helpful. Before I started them, I was very anxious and I was avoiding situations, which was affecting my life. However, with all the support and strategies I received from Zubeida, I have overcome my fear and I feel so much happier. Zubeida has been really understanding and comforting which made me feel at ease; she created a safe space for me to share my worries. Thanks to Zubeida, I can now do all the things I was avoiding, without feeling scared and I’m so grateful for all her help."  17 year old college student

I am an independent practitioner. For safeguarding and risk reasons, if anyone in your household is open to children's services or if your child is in crisis, experiencing moderate-severe depression or anxiety, self harm, eating disorders or suicidal thoughts and behaviours, your child would be better supported by a multi-disciplinary team. Therefore please see your GP and discuss a referral to your local Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS).  In emergency dial 999 or take your child to your local A&E department.
